Ginger, Salt & Lime Digestive Boost
The power of your digestion – also known as your digestive fire, or agni, is crucial to our overall health. In Ayurveda, the strength of our digestion is related to all other aspects of your health – from your mental health, hormonal health, balanced body weight and strength.
This appetizer featuring fresh ginger, lime, and mineral salt helps increase the digestive fire and to balance kapha dosha. To prepare, slice the ginger into nickel-thick slices and place them in a jar. Cover them with lime juice and a few pinches of salt, and let them marinate. Enjoy one piece before meals to awaken your taste buds, stimulate your digestive juices, and cleanse your palate.
Taking this digestion booster 20-30 minutes before meals to help increase your digestive fire. This will also help increase your metabolism and help you better digest your food, as well as support detoxification and reduce gas, menstrual cramps, congestion, nausea and inflammation.
