Briya (Rachel) Freeman began her journey of awakening and self-inquiry in her early teens, and taught her first yoga class at age 12.
At age 23, she found herself facing a seemingly incurable "mystery illness", and began an in-depth exploration of natural healing modalities including yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, ancestral ceremony, depth psychology, herbalism, dreamwork, and Eastern philosophy.
In 2010, she began a long-term apprenticeship under the guidance of South American shaman, mystic and spiritual teacher Berdhanya Swami Tierra (2010-present).
Briya is a graduate of The Bioenergetics Institute of Ottawa (2012), holds studies from Anjali School of Ayurveda and Panchakarma (Kerala, India 2012-2016), a Bachelor's degree from The Telfer School of Management (2006) and studies in International Business at L'Ecole Supérieure de Rouen (France, 2004).
Briya is the creator of Ayurveda for Vibrant Living, a practical exploration of the ancient yogic science of self-care and self-healing. She is also the co-founder of Eagle Feather Books, a small publication dedicated to the evolution of consciousness, and has published works in Ayurveda Mantra and Blissful Magazine.
Briya has also served as an independent business consultant and senior economic analyst in the Canadian public service. She has facilitated numerous courses in stress-resilience, mental health and creativity for private, public and corporate audiences.
Briya's work is dedicated to exploring the potentials of human consciousness in a way that respects, unites and transcends global culture and tradition.
She has traveled extensively across Europe, Asia and the Americas for spiritual pilgrimages, retreats and personal adventure. To date, Briya has given meditation courses in 6 countries.
From 2015-2019, she also had the honour of supporting the work of shaman and mystic Berdhanya Swami Tierra facilitating international courses, pilgrimages and retreats.
Briya is committed to supporting a growing global community of awakened leaders, healers, artists and visionaries.
