Ojas Date & Almond Shake
In Ayurveda, a person with strong "ojas" is known to have strong immunity, balanced emotions, a clear, focused mind, and to bring natural radiance to everything they do.
In today’s day and age, ojas can easily become depleted from stress, pollutants, too much mental work or poor lifestyle habits. Ojas can be boosted through proper diet and practices like yoga, meditation, breathwork, rest and Ayurvedic self-care routines.
Dates are famously used in ayurveda to support ojas and reproductive tissues. If you wish, you can substitute dates for honey or maple syrup.
3-4 medjool dates, pits removed (or 1 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup)
1 cup milk (or almond or coconut milk)
1 teaspoon ghee or 10 almonds (preferably soaked overnight)
1 pinch cinnamon & 1 pinch cardamom powder
Optional : 1 pinch dry ginger powder (for kapha dosha - boosts metabolism)
¼ tsp almond oil extract
Put all ingredients in the blender. Blend for 1-2 minutes. Strain if desired. .
Serve warm in the winter or room temperature in the summer.
Avoid heating honey (honey becomes toxic when heated)
