Updated: Aug 11, 2022

PERFECT FOR A HEAT WAVE

Did you know that when your body feels thirsty, it's a sign that you're probably already dehydrated?

As heatwaves loom across Canada, staying properly hydrated is crucial to our overall health and well-being.Hydration supports the health of every cell and organ in our body, including healthy brain function, liver function, digestion, lymphatic flow, strong muscles and joints, and beautiful skin.

Drinking water throughout the day is a good start, but if we are sweating a lot, we also want to be sure that we are replacing lost electrolytes. And no, store-bought energy drinks are not the solution !

This drink is cooling, replenishing and balancing for Pitta Dosha and the liver, helping to balance heat-related emotions and ailments such as anger, frustration, irritability, rashes, skin eruptions and other complications.

This week, I'm sharing a summer rehydration water that you can make at home using simple, natural ingredients. Have a try and let me know what you think!

SUMMER REHYDRATION WATER

Prepare 1 cup of filtered water at room temperature (no ice!). Add 1 TBSP maple syrup (or raw local honey), 1-3 squeezes of fresh lime (or lemon) to taste, and 1/4 tsp of mineral salt. Stir well and enjoy. Serves 1 or double the recipe to hydrate a friend (especially our senior population).
