What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old system of natural healing from Ancient India. Known as the 'sister science' of yoga, it uses a combination of self-care, lifestyle, herbalism and nutrition to support your natural state of balance and well-being on all levels of who you are: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. At its core, Ayurveda teaches you to become your own best healer by empowering a deeper connection with your body's inner wisdom.

What is this workshop about?

This 1-day workshop introduces you to some of the fundamental principles of Ayurvedic. self-heaing, including: 

  • our connection to the elements + what this means for your body, mind, emotions + spirit

  • how to know your unique mind-body type, + how to care for it

  • an introduction to Ayurvedic pulse reading

  • guided practices to help you relax and connect with your body's inner wisdom

  • breathwork, meditation & gentle movement

  • self-inquiry + community connection

  • Ayurvedic treats + teas

This workshop is deigned to be fun, inspiring and experiential. This will not be a textbook course but one that feels more like a day at the spa! Expect to leave feeling fresh, inspired and relaxed.

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is a good fit for you if:

  • You want to feel better in your body and are curious about exploring natural healing, yoga or meditation 

  • ​You want to explore principles of self-healing that are practical, intuitive and time-tested -- and that you can keep for life!

  • You're struggling with health challenges (e.g. stress, anxiety, insomnia, body pain, allergies or digestive issues) and want to learn to come back into balance naturally

  • You're in the process of spiritual awakening and are looking for tools to support and stabilize your body, mind and emotions

  • ​​​You want to learn more about personal growth and connect with like-minded people

Meet Your Facilitator


Briya Freeman first encountered the wonders of Ayurveda on a backpacking trip in India over 15 years ago -- and it changed her life!

For her, learning about the holistic wisdom of Ayurveda just made sense on both a practical and a soul level -- and helped her find answer to many long held questions about the body, the mind, the emotions, the natural world, the spirit, and the cosmos itself.


Ayurveda's practical wisdom also inspired her life's mission of finding natural ways to heal her own body, to balance her mind and emotions, and to create spaces to empower others to do the same.


Briya has been teaching courses in self-healing, meditation and modern mysticism since 2011.
